Founded in 874, Daigo-ji is a Shingon Buddhist temple housing national treasures like the Kondo (Main Hall) and a five-story pagoda. While celebrated for its springtime cherry blossoms, the temple’s autumn foliage is equally captivating.

The peak viewing period typically spans from mid-November to early December. Notable spots include:

Approach Path: Passing through the Niomon Gate, visitors are greeted by a tunnel of vibrant autumn leaves.

Rinsen Garden: Surrounding the Kannon Hall, this area offers some of the temple’s most vivid foliage. The reflection of the vermilion Bentendo Hall and the colorful leaves on the pond’s surface is a sight to behold.

Evening Illuminations

From November 22 to December 1, 2024, the temple will host evening viewings from 6:00 PM to 8:50 PM. The illuminated foliage creates a magical atmosphere distinct from daytime views.
